Melding Eastern and Western Medical Concepts Using Acupuncture, Herbs and Cupping
Tracey L. Crocker MS, DiplOM, R.TCMP Acupuncturist and Herbalist received her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2013 from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina. As a school rooted in the teachings of Classical Chinese Medicine, she was fortunate to study with 88th generation Daoist priest Jeffery Yuen in the practice of both classical acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Before pursuing her career in Chinese Medicine, Tracey’s interests were two fold as she was equally passionate about both environmental and human health issues. These interests cumulated into her earning a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Masters in Forest Ecology from the University of Georgia. As a scientist at Duke University her research endeavors spanned from global climate change/plant science to environmental toxicology and molecular biology. Needless to say, she is very interested in the melding of both eastern and western medical concepts!
It was her amazing experience using acupuncture for her own personal health that prompted a new career path. Armed with a solid background in western medicine and plant science, as well as a passionate interest in working in human health, she exchanged her lab coat for acupuncture needles and Chinese herbs. She believes in a truly integrative approach to healing! Her interests include pain, anxiety and depression, gastro-intestinal disorders, women’s issues (including menstrual irregularities and infertility), as well as chronic and autoimmune disorders. She is especially interested in the application of herbal medicines where appropriate.
Tracey is licensed with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturist of Ontario (CTCMPAO), as well as the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), USA. She sincerely looks forward to beginning this wonderful journey of health with you!
