Sufi Samaa: A Gathering of Hearts

An afternoon of Mystical Music, Devotional Poetry, Inspirational Stories

— ★ —

In the Sufi tradition, a Samaa (literally “listening”) is the practice of deep listening with the heart. It is a sacred gathering where melody, chanting, and verse serve as a bridge to the Divine. This spiritual concert is designed to awaken the soul, polish the mirror of the heart, and draw the seeker into a state of deep remembrance and divine love.

Featured Artist

Hadi Yves Saint-Pierre

Hadi was drawn to Sufism through music after being exposed to Moroccan Gnawa, Indian music (classical, filmi, and Qawwali). He plays bass clarinet in a jazz trio and soprano clarinet with a group of Armenian and Turkish musicians who sing the poetry of Mevlana Rumi.

He has also spent many years around storytelling festivals, inspired by the stories of different cultures around the world, and has delved more deeply into the stories of Farid al-Din Attar.
