About This Event

Our circle is rooted in the Sufi tradition but draws from the well that feeds all rivers. We welcome people of every faith, no faith, every background and orientation.Sahabat-an-Nur is a member of the Safe Space Alliance. LGBTQI+ communities are welcomed, supported, and respected — by us, and in the space we gather.

We ask all who come to bring an open heart, to attend with a sense of sacredness, and to accept all present regardless of race, color, creed, faith, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification, or any other personal characteristic. This is our adab, and it is not negotiable.

With that as our ground: these Sessions are an unhurried gathering together. We settle, we take up a theme, and we stay with it — through reading, silence, breath, chant, and conversation. Some of it is spoken and some of it is not. The closing hour is tea, food, and each other. No prior experience is necessary.

Themes are drawn from Hazrat Inayat Khan's Invocation and unfold across the year. Dates and themes will be updated throughout the year.
