While virgin coconut oil remains solid at room temperature, fractionated coconut oil is a type of coconut oil that has had the long-chain fatty acids removed using hydrolysis and/or distillation, leaving the oil in a constant liquid state. This means that fractionated coconut oil mixes more easily with other ingredients while maintaining its moisturizing and non-comedogenic (it won’t clog pores) properties.
Use fractionated coconut oil to dilute essential oils, as a massage oil, or in the bath. This oil is colourless, meaning it won’t stain sheets, and is less viscous than other common carrier oils.
